The Aston Martin Vantage Is Ready for the Track With the GT8
The lightest and most powerful V8 Vantage ever — and it’s street-legal.
Aston Martin’s latest track-ready beast is here as the iconic British outfit has taken cues from its 2016 V8 Vantage GTE to create the brand new GT8. The lightest and most powerful V8 Vantage ever, the limited edition vehicle sheds about 220 pounds thanks to the likes of a standard lithium-ion battery, 19-inch magnesium wheels and extensive carbon fiber bodywork throughout — not to mention manually-adjusted carbon fiber sport seats. Thankfully, however, the weight-saving measures haven’t gone much further as the GT8 still packs the AMi III infotainment system along with a 160-watt sound system.
Under the hood a 4.7-liter V8 boasts 446 horsepower and 361 pound-feet of torque and can be paired with a standard six-speed manual transmission or Sportshift II seven-speed automated manual gearbox. All in all, the GT8 can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds before topping out at 190 mph. And best of all? Despite its power, boosted aerodynamics (including a massive rear wing and extended front splitters), and racing pedigree, the GT8 isn’t just a force to be reckoned with on the track — it’s street-legal, too.
Limited to just 150 production models, the Vantage GT8 will be available exclusively in the UK later this year for £165,000 GBP (approximately $234,407 USD).
