The Weeknd's Close Collaborator Illangelo Reworks Daisy Hamel-Buffa's "Your Future Is Not Mine"
The Grammy winner resurfaces.

When it comes to his own music, Grammy-winning musician and producer Illangelo has been relatively quiet in recent months. Outside of rare appearances on singles such as Chuck Ellis’ “Alone” and an impressive set on Drake’s OVO Sound Radio show on Beats 1, Illangelo has been pretty quiet in the past year. Now, for his first release of 2016, the multi-talented sound architect resurfaces with a striking rework of the Daisy Hamel-Buffa single “Your Future Is Not Mine.” Even though he employs a sound different from what we’re used to hearing from him, Illangelo keeps his signature melancholic, darker-toned sonic aesthetic intact here. Speaking to FADER about the cut, Illangelo calls the effort, “an anthem for the creators, the hungry ones that never give up and know that with enough trust and belief in yourself, anything is possible.” Very based.
