Raf Simons and Kvadrat Team up for 2016 Textile Collection
Bringing the designer’s unique style into the home.
Danish textile maker Kvadrat has partnered up with designer Raf Simons for an exclusive textile collection. Simons, inspired by Modernist furniture and musical influences, created custom pieces dubbed Reflex, Pulsar and Fuse, accompanied by custom pillows and throws. The oft-drab hues found in upholstered furniture are given a new life with pops of bright orange, yellow and pink. The key piece in the collection includes a reproduction of Franco Albini’s 1940s chairlift seat, outfitted with a bold striped motif. While the textiles were created with sturdy materials like wool and mohair, the throws were comprised of delicate fabrics including cashmere and baby alpaca, among others.
