Packer Shoes x New Balance MT580 "Pine Barrens"
Dropping alongside a matching apparel collab with Lafayette.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the MT580, so New Balance will undoubtedly be dropping a ton of collaborative takes on the kicks throughout the year to give the silhouette its due. One of the first? A “Pine Barrens” release alongside Packer Shoes.
Hot on the heels of Packer’s New York Giants Starter jacket, the upcoming “Pine Barrens” release embraces the MT580’s trail running origins and pays homage to New Jersey’s dense 1-million-acre forest — and the mythical creature that’s terrorized those wandering its depths since the 1700s. The resulting sneaker combines murky red tones across premium suedes and ballistic mesh alike as a pine forest graphic decorates both the tongue label and lining. Additional touches include some vibrant 3M pops, as well as dashes of purple to the midsole and laces.
Complete with a matching capsule collection of apparel alongside Japan’s Lafayette as a nod to the MT580’s enduring popularity across Asia, the “Pine Barrens” — limited to just 500 pairs — is due out this Friday, March 25 at Packer locations and packershoes.com.
