Danner's Mountain Light Boots Get the hobo Treatment
Monochromatic looks for the ’70s icon.

Originally released back in 1979, Danner’s Mountain Light is still to this day considered by many to be the greatest backpacking boot of all time. So, naturally, the silhouette is an obvious fit for collaborative endeavors — the latest of which brings Oregon and Japan together as Danner taps hobo to give the design a makeover. Hot on the heels of hobo’s own Suicoke sandals, the Spring 2016 release sees the Japan-made boot with its handcrafted stitch-down construction, and military-use Vibram Sierra outsole, but ditches leather in favor of olive and tan suede and a monochromatic aesthetic.
Complete with embossed hobo branding on the tongue, the boots will soon be available from the likes of COVERCHORD for ¥52,000 JPY (approximately $457 USD) per pair.
