Sneaker specialists Extra Butter have partnered up with the New York Islanders to celebrate the NHL franchise’s inaugural season at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The diehard Islanders fan have applied a limited edition color scheme and premium materials to Reebok’s heritage Ventilator Supreme running shoe for this occasion, which boasts a design pointing to the team’s jerseys over the years with shades of blue, orange, black, white, and a touch of teal. Details paying homage to the franchise’s four consecutive Stanley Cups are also seen with the four Reebok logo stripes rendered in 3M reflective silver, and the years 1980-1983 embroidered at the heel. A nod to the 740 win total of the late Al Arbour, the team’s dynasty-era Hall of Fame coach, inside the tongue finishes off this special colorway. The sneaker’s release on March 18 at the retailer’s Rockville Center location and March 19 at the Lower East Side store will be accompanied by a range of Mitchell & Ness apparel as well. A limited quantity of kicks will also be available for purchase online.
