In a brilliant and timely move, Ryan Reynolds has taken his prized Deadpool character and hilariously spoofed Kanye West’s infamous leaked outburst, which occurred backstage at last week’s SNL. With Deadpool currently at the helm of box offices and a petition going around for the R-rated antihero to host the iconic comedy show, the timing was ripe for Reynolds to capitalize on this relevant pop culture moment. In the clip, he irreverently tackles Ye’s rant by quoting “we’re breaking the motherf*cking internet” and further compares himself to Barbara Bush, the Kia Sorrento, shredded cheese and rival superhero Wolverine. Adding a diss to Rip Taylor and a nod to The Life of Pablo album, this might be one of the most opportune and creative promotions we’ve seen for the masked comic book star.
