Lady Gaga Appears in Bruce Weber's Campaign for Barneys
“Our Town” is an ode to the diversity and history of New York City.
Photographer Bruce Weber, who recently shot Louis Vuitton’s groundbreaking campaign featuring Jaden Smith, has teamed up with Barneys New York for its upcoming 2016 spring season. The luxury retailer is opening up its original downtown location in Chelsea later this month, so it’s only fitting that the campaign paid homage to the city’s rich history. Aptly titled “Our Town,” the images feature Lady Gaga, Yoko Ono, Cyndi Lauper and Helmut Lang, in addition to other notable New York personalities. Four of the Angulo brothers from the cult documentary The Wolfpack, along with the NYFD’s first female battalion chief Rocky Jones are also highlighted, emphasizing the diverse range of people that make up the city. In addition, iconic locations spanning from the grit of the Lower East Side to the posh boutiques uptown are all captured through the legendary photographer’s lens. “As I now took photographs and films of my beloved city, I could still feel its embrace and a tear ran down my cheek for a love once lost and again found,” said Weber in the press release.
