What could be better than a real stone sourced from Los Angeles, with a smooth marbled exterior, wrapped in supple leather? This admittedly unique product appeared on Nordstrom’s site just in time for the holidays, and while the rocks and stones are typically reserved for the outdoors, this particular one has a ton of uses — including ”paperweight, conversation piece or a work of art.” While housing your rock in a vegetable-tanned American leather pouch may seem odd, this one is cut, shaped, sewn and finished by hand at Peter Maxwell’s LA studio.
