Mackintosh Will Tap Kiko Kostadinov for Its New Designer Line Mackintosh 0001
Looking to break through the raincoat label.

Raincoat heritage label Mackintosh has announced the hiring of Kiko Kostadinov as creative director for its new designer line called Mackintosh 0001. The Bulgarian designer launched his label at the beginning of 2016 and has received great fanfare for his utilitarian approach to fashion. “Kiko has the ability to merge his own modern vision with the luxury traditions of Mackintosh. We were first drawn to his work because of his innovative pattern cutting and intricate garment construction and look forward to the new contemporary direction he will bring to our brand,” Andrea Austoni, global commercial director at Mackintosh, said. Kiko will bring his expertise and “would like to push Mackintosh’s qualities into more modern areas of fashion and clothing. I don’t want people to see it only as a brand for luxurious raincoats.” Mackintosh and Kiko will be showing at Paris Fashion Week on January 21. Check out his Instagram announcement here.
