G-SHOCK Taps Independent Singaporean Music Label, Darker Than Wax for Its Latest Collaboration
Appropriately titled “New Times” as 2016 comes to an end.
These days, the symbiotic relationship between big brands and independent creatives has become somewhat of a norm, allowing major names to connect to smaller markets and artists to expand their reach. The latest collaboration of this nature comes from timepiece brand, G-SHOCK which has looked to the Singaporean music scene for its latest creative partner. Darker Than Wax or DTW is an independent label celebrating its fifth anniversary this month, which not only has its hands in local club culture but also arts, fashion, architecture and everything in between. Together the two brands are releasing their version of the GD-100, which comes complete with the usual heavy-duty specs of a G-SHOCK watch, subtle DTW branding and an exclusive USB music compilation (also available for streaming on Soundcloud). The watch will be exclusively sold at Casio G-Factory in Singapore and G-SHOCK stores in London this December.
