Since its inception, Japanese label Masao Shimizu has focused on expertly tailored basics and 2016’s fall/winter offering from the brand continues that trend. This season, however, the looks have been overhauled as Shimizu has employed patchwork motifs throughout. The result is as clean and classic as ever, but with subtle, intricate detailing that — save for the collection’s crew neck sweatshirt — may not make itself known upon first glance. Even denim gets the patched treatment with some pairs adopting 50/50 indigo/stonewash looks while others sport contrasting pockets.
