Netflix Previews Its First Original Brazilian Series With '3%'
Directed by “City of God’s” Cesar Charlone
Netflix continues to double down on its original programming, this time expanding to Brazil to showcase the trailer for its newest production 3%. Directed by Oscar-nominated cinematographer Cesar Charlone (City of God, The Constant Gardener), the show was created by Pedro Aguilera, who produced a web series of the same name back in 2011. The plot sets up a dystopian future where people reside in a desolate area known as the Inland. While daily living is bleak for most, a small 3% of the population are chosen to live in a utopia known as the Offshore, which teases the perfect life. Through a rigorous selection known as The Process, the cutthroat setting shows the dark side of humanity where people will do whatever it takes to be a part of the privileged few.
3% will mark the first Netflix series to be filmed, produced and acted by Brazilians. Take a look at the trailer above and catch all eight episodes premiering on Nov. 25.
