Bjarke Ingels Group Plans a Pair of Rotating Towers in New York
Skewing traditional skyscraper geometry.

Conceived by the Bjarke Ingels Group, plans for a pair of ‘rotating’ towers in New York have recently been unveiled. Named “The Eleventh” the upcoming development is situated between the High Line and Hudson River, with towers that climb a total height of 300 and 400 feet respectively. Additionally, the buildings feature stone and metal facades with punched window openings that are reminiscent of NYC’s historic industrial buildings and nearby Meatpacking District. A twist on the classic vertical skyscraper design, the east tower will serve as a five-star hotel and spa with private luxury homes in the higher floors, while the west tower will solely feature condominium residences. Bjarke Ingels Group’s “The Eleventh” is slated to open in 2019, but for now check out photo renderings above to experience the design that aims to skew traditional skyscraper geometry.
