'The Simpsons' Creator Matt Groening In Talks With Netflix for New Animated Series

The Simpsons creator and current executive producer Matt Groening is working on a new animated series with Netflix, as reported by Deadline. While further details are being kept on the down low, insiders say that Netflix is considering a two season, 10 episode deal which Groening will create and write. With 12 Primetime Emmy Awards under his belt, 10 for The Simpsons and two for Futurama – which he also created — it will be interesting to see what Groening will produce in partnership with the digital disruptor. Netflix has been investing more in animated series geared towards adults after the success of shows including BoJack Horseman, which is headed for its third season and F is for Family, created in conjunction with stand-up comedian Bill Burr.
