Karl Lagerfeld & Hedi Slimane Shoot Each Other for 'V' Magazine
A meeting of two maestros.
As guest editor of V magazine‘s latest issue, Lady Gaga decided to try something different by inviting fashion luminaries Karl Lagerfeld and Hedi Slimane to photograph each other for the cover of the magazine. The pair, who initially met two decades ago, used to live one building apart on the Rive Gauche in Paris before Slimane’s move to California in 2008, and as such had much praise for each other during the shoot. “I love Karl’s wit, his sincerity and curiosity for emerging cultures, and his intuitive perception for what is about to happen,” said Slimane, while Lagerfeld added, “In a way, not seeing each other for all those years felt like five minutes when we saw each other again. That happens with true friends.” On the idea of bringing the two minds together for the shoot, Lady Gaga explained, “For this issue, I wanted nothing more than to have one story, just one, that my children and the future of fashion world remember forever.”
