Giuseppe Zanotti's Latest Sneaker Pays Tribute to Kanye's 'Cruel Summer'
Better late than never, right?

It’s been almost four years since G.O.O.D. Music dropped Cruel Summer, but the work’s influence is still rippling through music, as well as fashion. Italian luxury shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti has already collaborated with Kanye West and Kid Cudi in the past, so his allegiance to the label is clear. Zanotti’s latest tribute to Mr. West and Co.’s group effort comes in the form of the “Cruel Summer’”sneaker — a leather mid-top with dual side-zip styling. The kicks’ baroque metal flame appliqués is an overt reference to Kanye and Giuseppe’s previous collaborative heels and the album’s artwork, while the firetruck-red leather harkens back to Kanye’s post-MBDTF obsession with regal red Philip Lim tailoring. The regal colorway is for sale at Barneys for $1,250 USD.
