LeBron James Unveils His 13th Signature Sneaker in Akron, Ohio
The first colorway to drop: the Nike LeBron 13 “Written in the Stars.”
One month before the start of the 2015-2016 season, LeBron James unveiled his 13th signature sneaker with Nike to a crowd of family, friends and fans in Akron, Ohio. A model tailored to the point-forward’s unmatched combination of power and speed, this sneaker features a mixture of signature aesthetics and new innovations. As Nike points out, the LeBron 13 is built around three performance features: a breathable, sock-like fit for flexibility and lockdown, a Hyperposite upper that provides zoned impact protection, and Zoom Air cushioning units to maximize explosiveness. Additional details include a change in the size and placement of the hexagonal Zoom Air units that debuted in the LeBron 12, and design elements that pay homage to ‘Bron’s hometown. The LeBron 13 “Written in the Stars” colorway will be available on October 1 in Greater China and globally on October 10, followed by the LeBron 13 Away colorway denoting Cleveland’s season tipoff on the road in Chicago on October 27. The LeBron 13 is available for NIKEiD customization on September 30.
