YouTube's Gaming Stream Service Is Launching, Simply Called "YouTube Gaming"
The video service’s response to Twitch.
YouTube announced in June that it would be delving into gaming with its own streaming platform. A direct response to Twitch, YouTube Gaming will drag all of its live-stream and game-related videos into one place. Twitch is a site that was acquired by Amazon and lets gamers stream their games or for viewers to tune in. YouTube’s gaming service is finally launching today, however only in the US and UK at gaming.youtube.com. Google was reportedly in the race to purchase Twitch, but Amazon won out at the end proving to be a useful boom as many viewers would then purchase the game. Available on both iOS and Android, the company is also launching an “easier” way to start a live stream in beta.
