For those of you regaled during your childhood with the spirited exploits of a Japanese boy and his playful blue robotic cat, prepare to have everything you believe in trampled upon. Chinese illustrator EN. posted a series of illustrations on his Weibo social media account that married the wide-eyed characters of the popular Japanese children’s anime with the gritty, gang-ridden world of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, in the process turning Doraemon into a rabid dog, Nobita into an assault rifle-wielding assassin, the lovely Shizuka into a buxom, bikini-clad woman, and Suneo into a rapper swathed in gold chains. This is not the first time these two disparate worlds have clashed — a user mod for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas surfaced in 2011 where Doraemon was featured as a playable character. Enjoy the disturbing visualization above.
