Wooden Shell Toe adidas Superstars in Collaboration With Afew and Ivan Beslic
Have you ever seen an adidas Shell Toe made from real platane wood?
Commonly revered as one of adidas‘s most iconic footwear styles to date, the adidas Superstar has played host to many notable collaborations, but none more so than its latest with Dusseldorf’s Afew Store and German artist Ivan Beslic. Constructed from an upper of premium calf and pigskin leather, the monochromatic silhouette features Beslic’s artist emblem embossed over the tongue detail, which then leads through to a perforated sock liner bearing similar graphical reference and examples of his colorful working style. What is most interesting about adidas’s latest collaboration is the inclusion of a formed, real wood Shell Toe in place of the silhouette’s usual rubberized cap. The special wooden feature serves as a contrast to the materials and color palette of the shoe while hinting towards the hand-worked effect seen throughout Beslic’s work.
