Narcos marks the latest addition to Neflfix’s stable of original content, following in the footsteps of the likes of the commercially successful and critically acclaimed House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. Billed by Netflix as a show that “depicts a brutal world where lines are blurred and little is black and white,” the series takes place in the drug-fueled wars of the 1980s and tells the true story of the U.S. and Colombian efforts to take down Pablo Escobar and the Medellin cartel — arguably the most violent and wealthy criminal organization in the history of modern crime.
Starring Wagner Moura as Pablo Escobar and featuring Boyd Holbrook and Pedro Pascal, Narcos premieres August 28.
