Drawing visual elements from the fighter planes circa the Second World War, the Converse Chuck Taylor here gets a neat makeover through the “Shark” pack. Here we find the Massachusetts-based brand executing two colorways of the Chuck Taylor All Star MA-1 Zip, both of which are done with a combination of premium canvas and knit throughout the upper. At the medial sides, the sneaker is outfitted with an illustration of shark’s teeth – drawing on the nose portion of legendary Curtiss P-40 Warhawk fighter jets. Completed by a zipper at the tongue that reveals a nylon interior lining – a nod to MA-1 model bomber jackets used by pilots – the “Shark” pack has already begun making the retail rounds in Europe and will land stateside in the coming weeks.
