Next year, Insomniac Games’ Ratchet & Clank is making its way to the big screen in the form of a 3D computer-animated science fiction action comedy adaptation — featuring the likes of Paul Giamatti, John Goodman, Roasario Dawson and Sylvester Stallone — inspired by the original 2002 PlayStation 2 game. To coincide with the film’s debut, Insomniac is developing a brand new game as a PlayStation 4 exclusive. Billed as a “game inspired by the movie inspired by the game,” PS4’s Ratchet & Clank will exist as a reboot of the original franchise, once again pairing Ratchet with Clank, Captain Qwark, and some new friends as they battle to save the Solana Galaxy from the evil Chairman Drek.
Check out the trailer above and look for the game to debut in playable form next week on the show floor at E3 in Los Angeles. Ratchet & Clank is due out Spring 2016 while the film is set to hit theaters April 29, 2016.
