Powers Pleasant - 1Day

A week ago, Pro Era co-founder Powers Pleasant coupled the announcement of his debut solo effort with a lead single entitled “Risk.” Today, we’re presenting you with the second single in support of Powers Pleasant’s debut project, “1Day.” Unlike our previous taste of Pleasant and Scion AV’s Powers Pleasant Experience EP, “1Day” comes to us devoid of any sort of vocals. This one’s driven purely by its bright, funk-esque synth-work and rhythm, and closely resembles the sonic experiments we’ve heard from LA beat-scene producers. After listening to these two songs off Powers Pleasant’s debut, you can tell the beatsmith is aiming for a sound outside of the boom-bap-indebted realm of Pro Era. You can check out ”1Day” above.
