Lotus Launches New 3-Eleven Coupe
Lotus took the wraps off of its quickest production model ever in England.

Lotus Cars has been in the business of lightweight automobiles for a while now, so when it debuts a new model, that car must represent a new chapter for the company. The longstanding English automaker took to the historic Goodwood Festival of Speed to debut its latest creation: the 3-Eleven coupe. Weighing in at a mere 1,984 lbs. and yet fitting a powerful 4.8-liter V6 engine onto the body, the 3-Eleven represents not only the quickest production model Lotus will ever make, but also the most expensive. Made available in both race- and road-spec editions, the 3-Eleven is fine tuned to deliver 450 bhp, which is astounding considering the car’s size. The chassis, composed of a secret formula that is reportedly 40% stronger than fiberglass, is a bonded and riveted aluminum monocoque with a roll cage thankfully backing it up. Limited to just 311 models, check out the 3-Eleven here and wait for one of them to hit roads in February 2016.
