Kendrick Lamar reveals the music video for the ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ single “Alright.”
Of the numerous hard-hitters on To Pimp a Butterfly – the airtight bars of which are still being deciphered – “Alright” stands out as a kind of triumph; an accessible, irresistibly irreverent and motivating track. Lamar recently took the anthem to the stages of the 2015 BET Awards, perfectly framing the song in the context of police violence and boiling-over resentment, strikingly performing atop a cop car corpse.
