Following the inaugural launch last month, we teamed up with J.Crew again to continue our ongoing in-store series. Blending music and fashion in an intimate jam session, the series looks to showcase some of the industry’s fledgling talents, while bringing the local creative community together to J.Crew’s three-storey boutique in Central, Hong Kong. Gracing us with his presence after recent gigs at the likes of SXSW and Red Bull Music Academy: Bass Camp Beijing, Howie Lee played a slew of hip-hop favorites blended in with more obscure, left-field melodies. Stringing together heavy-hitters such as Drake’s “How Bout Now” and Migos & Young Thug’s “YRN” with stripped-back instrumentals from the likes of Ozzie and Dojo Cat, the young DJ-producer showed his deftness on the 1’s and 2’s and carried the groove through the evening with an eclectic selection.
