David Himel began his career selling vintage clothing to the Japanese market in the 1990s and having dealt with a majority of vintage garment stockists, developed a keen eye and established knowledge of the industry. He coupled his experience with his love for leather jackets, an interest originating from his days as a punk-rocker, to create a blog called “The Art of Vintage Leather Jackets” in 2007. After being contacted by numerous leather jacket afficienados, Himel realized that somebody would one day need to take control of producing awe-inspiring pieces and figured that he himself had the know-how to fill the void. His creations are intricately crafted, worldwide-sourced pieces that are an evolutionary take on their classic predecessors.
