Tony Ferguson to Launch RONE Footwear This Year

A recent interview with Tony Ferguson took the lid off of what was otherwise a rather dormant story. The Canadian ex-professional skater is often counted on a shortlist of greats – if not in “substance,” then certainly in style – to ride the seven plies. If there’s something that skaters know, it’s judging the quality of a shoe, and accordingly, Ferguson has been operating behind-the-scenes with ALIFE for the past few years, running the brand’s footwear division. A collaboration last summer previewed his prowess, and it’s recently surfaced that Ferguson will apply his 20+ years of accrued knowledge to a personal project: RONE. Just as Ferguson still keeps skating in his back pocket – churning out a photo here and there – RONE is said to be inspired by the spirit of skating, aiming to redefine classic silhouettes for the rigors of modern urban life. Construction is claimed as the key concern for the brand, with Ferguson putting fine Italian leathers and Goodyear welt construction at the forefront. While the above images – promising as they are – are all of the brand we have so far, be sure to look out for more on RONE as we move through the summer.
