In anticipation of its upcoming collection with renowned pop-surrealist artist Kenny Scharf, The Hundreds sits down with the LA-based artist to discuss his creative process. Joining Scharf at his studio in West Adams, The Hundreds provides a glimpse into his unique, eccentric, and colorful artistic style as the clip captures his abstract and surreal canvases decorating the studio walls. Speaking on his early inspirations and journey, Scharf divulges the high praise he received for his artwork as an adolescent and speaks on his move to NYC’s East Village in the ’80s. Taking to a local thrift store in order to dig up the next painting for his signature surreal creations, Scharf shares his thoughts on The Hundreds as the video above teases select pieces from the forthcoming collaborative collection, which is set to release on May 22.
