The battle between streaming services is heating up yet again as Spotify has just announced that it will begin to offer video content sometime this year. This announcement comes on the heels of the launch of JAY Z’s TIDAL, which has been focusing on exclusive content and video offerings as its main value proposition. At this point details are scarce, but we expect to know more after a scheduled May 20 media event in New York City that will give further insight into these new developments. One early rumbling is that Spotify is reportedly in talks with YouTube about possible partnerships. We’ll be sure to update you as more information becomes available, and until then stay tuned to HYPETRAK for more music news.
