Three of the main characters of Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming Western epic The Hateful Eight have been unveiled on the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. Depicted are Kurt Russell as bounty hunter John Ruth, Jennifer Jason Leigh as Ruth’s fugitive Daisy Domergue, and Samuel L. Jackson as former union solder-turned-bounty hunter Major Marquis Warren. Dressed in period costumes and in full make-up, the gunslingers convey the violence and conceit that the film is sure to deliver in bucketloads, although this film at one point seemed like it would not happen — a script leak last January prompted Tarantino to announce that he would shelve the film, although he was convinced otherwise after a live script read, to the joy of Tarantino fans everywhere. This week’s cover story for Entertainment Weekly will also feature a behind-the-scenes look at the production of the film. Otherwise, anticipate The Hateful Eight to release on November 13 of this year.
