Ariel Pink - I Need a Minute
Since dropping his stellar 2014 effort pom pom, LA’s reigning weirdo-art-rock-pop king Ariel Pink

Since dropping his stellar 2014 effort pom pom, LA’s reigning weirdo-art-rock-pop king Ariel Pink has been relatively quiet when it comes to dropping new songs. But, today, he’s back with a new one entitled “I Need a Minute.” “I Need a Minute” showcases a more narcotic, psychedelic side of Pink’s artistry, who has become known for his bizarro, sometimes tongue-in-cheek take on and rework of classic sounds. The song was crafted for the film Heaven Knows What, a Josh and Benny Safdie-directed film based on Arielle Holmes’ memoir, Mad Love in New York City. Pitchfork reports that Pink recorded nearly an hour’s worth of music for the film, but this was the song that ended up making the final cut. Pink will also have a brief cameo in the film.
