adidas Originals is bringing back a tennis court favorite from the 1970’s in the Rod Laver trainers. Australian Rod Laver was the number one ranked professional from 1964–70, and boasts 200 singles titles (the most in tennis history) as well as the all-time male singles records of 22 titles in a single season (1962). He is also noted for excelling on all of the court surfaces of his time: grass, clay, hard, carpet and wood/parquet. These shoes were designed with input from Laver himself, and feature a mesh upper with leather overlays and toe box, and a cushioned cupsole for comfort both on and off the courts. Finishing details include subtle three stripe stitching on the sides, embossed branding on the heel and the iconic Trefoil logo on the tongue.
