The Greasy Hand Preacher is a feature film which explores the revival of manual labor mechanics, focusing specifically on those who derive pleasure from designing and building their own customized motorcycles. For a unique aesthetic, director Clement Beauvais and producer Arthur de Kersauson shot the entire documentary in Super 16mm. The two traveled all over the world — including, but not limited to the USA, France, Scotland, Spain and Indonesia — showcasing both large- and small-scale manufacturers such as Roland sands, Shinya Kimura, El Solitario and Blitz Motorcycles. Funded through a Kickstarter campaign, the film offers a genuine perspective and a rare insight into the niche culture, as the two makers were able to make the film with full creative control, free of any external, monetary-driven forces.
