Brooklyn-based label The Brooklyn Circus has been on a mission since its inception in 2006, drawing on early 20th century dress palettes to assert a fresh perspective. The resulting aesthetic is timeless, boyish and distinctly academic, featuring a healthy supply of varsity jackets, cardigans, oversized trousers, and old school headwear. Particular highlights here include a hybrid bomber and varsity jacket, adorned with plush leather paneling at the shoulders and pockets; a sophisticated grey button-down sweater with classic white stripes at the arms; as well as a neat boat necked knit top. References to the year ‘1920’, while likely a personal motif to the designers, contextualizes the pieces well. Check out the collection above and head to BKc’s website to shop the first drops from the collection.
