SPZRKT - Honest (Produced by Sam Baker)

Georgia native and frequent Soulection collaborator SPZRKT (pronounced “spazzy rocket”) dropped a track this month titled “Honest,” produced by Sam Baker. As the title suggests, SPZRKT provides some confessional, emotional R&B vocals about a breakup, proclaiming “if the truth hurts, let me be in pain for a little.” Baker provides a spacey, 808-punctuated instrumental for SPZRKT’s subdued vocals. Hopefully this is the start of future collaborations between the two. Baker’s beat scene sensibility combines well with SPZRKT’s R&B tone. There’s no word on any upcoming SPZRKT project but this single along with an appearance on Soulection radio and a string of recent live performances would suggest he has something in the works.
