We had an impromptu meet up with talented singer-songwriter and producer JMSN a warehouse in Los Angeles. Mid-conversation, we had spontaneously decided to shoot a Music Essentials with him. We were slightly concerned that he wasn’t carrying much with him, but when he showed us what he did have we then decided that it’d still make for a great, minimalistic feature for this week. Diagonally laid straight through the middle is his vintage Danocaster Telecaster Deluxe guitar, the only he instrument he claims to know how to play. In order to maximize the sonic potential of the guitar, he has an EBow and a bottle slide to help him create unique sound effects. On the lifestyle end, JMSN only needs two things: a can of Copenhagen Pouches to get him buzzed during shows, and a cross chain to remind him that he is merely a human being just like the rest of us. His set definitely not a fancy one, but it serves as a good reminder that you don’t need a lot to make great things. The less you have, the more you can let your true talent shine through — and JMSN represents just that.
