Ushering in a new age of home security is a new collaborative project between Friday Lab, Bjarke Ingels Group and D Line: Friday Smart Lock. Equipped with both WiFi and Bluetooth, the minimalist door lock is installed in just minutes, taking the form of an oversized knob above the handle. The lock connects to smartphones and features an accompanying app, and even keeps track of frequent visitors and grants access for tricky situations. Convenient as the lock is, we’ll hope that users keep their phone charged. The developers are currently seeking funding on Indiegogo.
