Canada-based designer Laura Siegel rejects the world of fast fashion, and instead opts for something more sustainable. Not only does she believe in offering clothes that are good for the environment, but sustainability also means that it supports and helps those communities that make them. By taking a critical look at the fashion supply chain and the impact of fast fashion, Siegel teamed up with Jennifer Sharpe to film Traceable, a documentary following Siegel around India as she meets with the people who create the majority of clothing we wear. In an effort to shift the public’s perspective on the provenance of fashion, the documentary hopes to instill a need for traceability in our fashion supply chain.
