As part of the ongoing anniversary celebration of the Superstar silhouette, adidas Originals has commissioned frequent Three Stripes collaborator Yohji Yamamoto to offer his own unique take on the classic shoe. Yamamoto’s iteration is definitely one of the most unorthodox that we have seen, featuring a bold metallic leather upper in vibrant red and blue, contrasted by a white midsole, heel pad and Shell Toe. Finishing touches include blue waxed laces and Yamamoto’s signature branding on either side. The Yohji Yamamoto x adidas Originals Superstar “Metallic” will carry a price tag of $545 USD and will be available at select adidas stockists in the coming weeks.
