This may be the only project to ever include Joey Bada$$, Ski Mask Malley and Fredo Santana in the same billing. Maxo Kream has shown himself to be an expert at acrobatically crafting tales of kickdoors and everything else that can be done with a ski mask, but this new Maxo 187 mixtape might be his probably his most fully-formed and developed project yet. From the bombastic, trap-on-steroids production of the intro track to the psychedelic graveyard music of “KKK” and the slow-churned, moody turn-up of “Astrodome,” Maxo juxtaposes his ruthless cutthroat-raps with a variety of well-produced, quality beats on Maxo 187. And, though it’s not a concept album, the narrative pretty much remains consistent from song to song: Maxo Kream knows his way around the streets. DJ Lil Keem might be co-hosting this, but Maxo 187 definitely feels more like a proper album. You can stream the project below, while downloads can be made at LiveMixtapes.
