Jimmy Edgar and Machinedrum are linking back up to release another collaborative project as JETS. Entitled The Chants, the new EP will feature four new offerings from the pair, with the EP’s sound described as “a long-scattered sketchbook of songwriting confidence that the pair have filled with drawings of cosmic rhythms, experimental sounds and other analogue obsessions.” The duo have stated that The Chants is less about figuring out and laying out the foundations of their direction, but more about “exploring the building of their creation.” With The Chants, Jimmy Edgar and Machinedrum say that they are “also focused on the recording process more than ever,” while explaining that they took a hands-on approach to the entire process of crafting the record by handling all the intricacies of producing The Chants by themselves. You can listen to the title track off The Chants above. The new JETS EP is set to drop on May 11.
