After purchasing Beats Music last May, it has been reported that Apple will be debuting its own music streaming service, set to release this June. The streaming service is reported to be an overhauled version of Beats Music, with iTunes branding and closer integration with the Apple ecosystem. The service will bring some of the Beats Music-style personalization and recommendations, although utilizing new software without any Beats branding. Sources say that it will be offered on multiple platforms, including web and Android. As for pricing, Apple is reported to be offering the service for $7.99 USD per month, which is attractive compared to competitors Spotify and Rdio, who offer streaming services for $9.99 USD. Apple has another advantage with its massive install base, potentially pushing the service to iPhones, iPads and Apple devices everywhere. While Spotify already has a reported 60 million listeners, Apple has an ample amount of cash, buying power and connections, with reports saying that it’s already snapping up record label talent and is backed by Jimmy Iovine, with eyes on signing exclusive deals. While many people have yet to delve into unlimited music streaming services, Apple surely has the power to influence. Let us know what you think in the comments, and whether you’ll try this one out.
