Starbucks, the world’s largest coffeehouse chain has announced a major company facelift. Officials have confirmed that America’s favorite coffee brand, which has historically pushed music as a viable component of its internal structure, physically evidenced by the warm, welcoming atmosphere of its chains will no longer by selling CDs. In an age that is transitioning to a more digital realm, the small baskets at the cash register stocked with CDs will now cease to exist. A spokesperson for Starbucks has reaffirmed that, “Music will remain a key component of our coffeehouse and retail experience, however we will continue to evolve the format of our music offerings to ensure we’re offering relevant options for our customers.” Stay tuned for further developments regarding Starbucks’ new game plan.
