Dutch photography duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin have once again caused quite the stir following their latest production starring former Disney star Selena Gomez. With their work often being described as outstanding, evocative and consistently interesting, the pair’s service to the world of fashion has been evident for over 25 years now. Following on from their shoot with Rihanna for AnOther Magazine, Inez & Vinoodh have added an interesting angle to the aesthetic of yet another celebrity. The sexualization of Selena Gomez in the shoot seems somewhat innocent and leaves many things open to individual interpretation – namely the actress turned singer’s fit into such sexually-driven imagery. The question remains whether or not their ‘sexy cowgirl’ approach was done to be evocative or humorous. We’ll let you decide.
