Startup Konost is currently shopping a new camera around to investors that it claims is the “world’s first true digital rangefinder.” Traditional rangefinder cameras were fitted with mirrors and prisms that formed a focusing mechanism, allowing the photographer to measure the subject distance and take photographs that were in very sharp focus. The Konost FF will instead use a digital system composed of a secondary image sensor for image overlay focusing. While Leica and Epson have both released rangefinder cameras in recent years, the Konost model promises image quality on par with any modern device. The target launch date for the Konost FF is early 2016, so if you are interested in more information or investing towards the project, visit the Konost website now.
