This particular one is titled “Friend Request,” and celebrates the act of forming a friendship, and that moment “when someone (becomes) more than just another someone.” It’s a different move for Facebook, who is a veteran of the social media game having been founded back in 2004 when the landscape was quite different compared to now. This TV campaign is just the latest proof that Facebook will fight to stay relevant and keep its user base growing, despite stiff competition from Vine, Snapchat, and other media-rich platforms that have launched in recent years.
