A new stereo from Bang & Olufsen uses artificial intelligence to guess what music you’re in the mood for. The BeoSound Moment features a two-sided controller, the first of which allows users to choose music based on their emotional state by simply touching a colored pinwheel called the Moodwheel. Touch closer to the center of the wheel and the music will be selected from your own collection; move further away from the inner circle and the more unfamiliar the music will get, with the device accessing music from Deezer, a streaming service with over 35 million songs. The other side of the controller is perhaps the most interesting: it has just a single button which, if pressed, plays music that matches your daily rhythm using a technology called PatternPlay. Based on your listening habits and musical preferences, the stereo can actually predict what music you want to hear at a given moment. The Bang & Olufsen BeoSound Moment music system is currently only available in the United Kingdom for a price of £1,795, with a wider release expected later this year.
